There’s nothing like a party to celebrate the completion of a great community project!
A group of Whakatu Rotarians gathered earlier this week for the blessing of the brand new deck at Age Concern Nelson Tasman in Richmond. Along with representatives of NMIT, Richmond Lions Club, Rātā Foundation and Pub Charity, our volunteer group participated in a fun looking action waiata before enjoying afternoon tea in the sun on the deck.
Whakatū Rotarian Caroline Budge is Age Concern’s manager and the organisation’s new deck and sliding doors, surrounding planter boxes, and boundary fence, are part of a project our club and Rotary District 9999 helped to support via a district grant and our volunteer labour.
Well done everyone. We look forward in time to seeing photos of the planter boxes in full bloom.
