Whakatū Rotary is delighted to have won a haul of trophies at today’s Rotary District 9999 changeover lunch in Timaru on 5 July.
Sadly we were unable to have someone present but our friend James McKenzie-Wiley from Blenheim Rotary was there to accept them on our behalf and sent through these photos from the event.
Our Rotary-Nelson Marlborough – Fire and Emergency mobile community hub caravans project won the coveted PDG Lyn Holmes District Project Trophy, and also the Lionel & Lynette Wilson Cup for club collaboration. We worked with Nelson Rotary, Nelson West Rotary Club, Blenheim Rotary, and Rotary Blenheim South to get caravans in Nelson City and Blenheim, and continue to work with Rotary Club of Richmond and Rotary Club of Motueka for one based in Tasman, and Greymouth Rotary for a West Coast based caravan.
Whakatū Rotarian Martin De Ruyter won the Hallam Smith Trophy for Photography, for a portfolio of Rotary related photographs, one of which is below.
