Outside of Rotary many of our members are already deeply involved in our community, often through our employment.
Caroline Budge is one such member. As the manager of Age Concern Nelson Tasman, Caroline today opened the 2025 Age Concern ‘Beyond the Face’ exhibition in The Granary at Founders Park.
The exhibition features 12 seniors who were interviewed by Fiona Terry and photographed by Tim Cuff for the exhibition. Aspects of their life stories reveal rich lives and experiences worthy of recognition and pride.
Amongst the 12 seniors featured in this year’s exhibition is Fred Stade, the father of a fellow Whakatū club member Karen Stade. Fred is a proud former Rotarian himself but his exhibition story tells of his time as a traffic officer in Nelson and on the West Coast.
You can visit the exhibition daily until 4 May when it will move to a new exhibition space in the region.
Meanwhile, Whakatū Rotary is working with Caroline and Age Concern on a project that will enhance the experience of seniors visiting the Age Concern rooms in Richmond.
